Hooters Cup

The Hooters Cup Series celebrates its 8th Birthday! OK, so what exactly is the Hooters Cup Series? In a nutshell The Hooters Cup Series consists of 11 Chicagoland area car shows (see 2008 Schedule page) in 7 different cities/towns from Crystal Lake to the north and Joliet to the south. It tracks a score or points from each show. This allows Show Rides to compete against each other all over the Chicagoland area. Thus pitting some of the best of the best against each other in a season long series that ends with a Grand Champion! The series has grown with every passing show as well as the breadth and depth of the vehicles that attend.

Is it necessary that you attend and compete at each show to win? Not at all! The series travels throughout Chicagoland and as it does, many join in on the fun as it comes through their area. The show series offers same day registration, convenient locations, lunch off a menu and a whole lot of fun! While the first 50 registered participants receive a $5 lunch coupon and dash plaque, all participants receive a free commemorative show poster signed by the lovely Hooter Calendar girls. Yes the ladies attend each show.

As a participant, you will compete for one of the Top 40 rides. The "Double K Top Forty" will offer awards for the Top 25 pre 1973 cars/trucks, the Top 12 post 1974 cars/trucks, and also the Top 3 Bikes. These awards will be broken into a Top 30 group, and a Top 10 group. Like last year, we will also issue awards for the Best Paint, Best Engine, Best Bike Tank Art, and of course, the overall Best in Show.

In addition to the nice awards, each winner will be issued points from their winnings. Throughout the season/schedule, these points will be accumulated. On Sept 7th at the last Hooters Show, (Schaumburg) the Grand Champion for Hooters Cup Series VIII will be announced. Points will be awarded per show as follows:

Top 30 Winners...9 points

Top 10 Winners...12 points

Best Paint.......15 points

Best Engine......15 points

Best Tank Art....15 points

Best of Show.....21 points
